I may not be a ninja, rock star, guru, expert, or any or those other marketing titles people assign themselves, but I do know what it feels like to stand at the education and have absolutely no clue what you’re going to do after being handed that diploma. I’m guessing you know that feeling too, and that’s why you’re here.

About Allison

After I graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2006, I decided to take the plunge and become a full time freelance writer. The 9-to-5 lifestyle just wasn’t for me; even as a student, part of me died inside every morning when the alarm clock went off and I had to go to work in a position where I didn’t get to call the shots. I stumbled into a career that makes me excited to wake up every morning and gives me the opportunity to be my own boss, but I realize that most people aren’t that lucky.

Right about now, you might be thinking, “Hell, I’ll take any job I’m offered at this point.” And you should. You need to be responsible about making money. However, I fully believe that you can work toward the ultimate goal of having a job you love. From my career as a writer and blogger, a new passion has grown – the passion to help people just like you turn that dream into a reality. If job satisfaction is something you prize in your life, you’re in the right spot!

Beyond my career as a writer/blogger, I’m also a sister, a girlfriend, a zombie fan, a crafter, an amateur cook, a crazy cat lady, an aspiring traveler, a reader, a Doctor Who fanatic, a gamer, a Twitter addict, and friend. Here are the other places you can find me online:

About After Graduation

After Graduation is a place specifically for new grads and people of any age interested in changing careers. It’s a scary place out there, no matter what your desired industry. There are two main parts to After Graduation:

  • The Blog: The career blog is your source for information and inspiration about finding a job you love. It doesn’t matter if you aspire to be a rocket scientist or hope to land a gig as a circus clown – the blog is for you!
  • The Freelance Writing Article Bank: Since my experience is specifically in the writing industry, this section of After Graduation is specifically for people interested in becoming a freelance writer.
