iPhone Apps for Writers Costing $1 or Less

phone I’m not a cell phone technology type of person; my trusty standby, which I had for nearly four years, worked just fine up until a few months ago, when the battery finally gave out. Still, I’m an Android girl, not an Apple person. I know a lot of you guys and gals have them though, and I do understand why. For a writer on the go, a phone that does more than just make calls makes sense.

I’ve put together this list of apps for writers. I know that everyone’s on a budget, so this will only set you back a dollar at most!

  • Dictionary.com and Miss Spell’s Class: You can get a dictionary reference and a fun spelling game for free from dictionary.com.
  • SnapTell: Just send a picture of a book, magazine, or other piece of media to this app’s database, and it will instantly bring up information about the picture. This one’s free too!
  • Idea Generator: For just 99 cents, you can get this fun and helpful app that can help you through roadblocks when you’re brainstorming writing ideas.
  • iStop WritersBlock: Also just 99 cents, this app is more focused on fiction writing than Idea Generator. You can come up with characters, plots, and more with it.
  • Jott: Free for Jott.com users, the Jott iPhone app is perfect for users who want a transcription service. You can do more than just record notes, though – you can also send emails, update your social networks, and more. There’s a free trial for non-Jott.com users.

iPhone users, help me out. What are some other good apps for writers that cost $1 or less?
